TULLY ARTS COUNCIL'S FIRST CULINARY ARTS DINNER!
Delicious Dinner-Dessert-Drink from Down-home and Abroad by Venus!
Guest Chef Venus Likulumbi, whose culinary roots are in the American South, Congo, and the Phillipines, will bring down-home cooking with a touch of foreign zest to two events at the Community Church—a Create Your Own Curry demonstration and sampler for adventurous chefs at 12 PM, and a scrumptious Southern-style sit-down dinner at 6:30 PM with music, candlelight, and a brief chat afterwards about her inspirations and suggestions for invigorating cuisine.
Served buffet-style at candle-lit tables, you will feast on American southern delights like savory Meatloaf Terrine, gluten-free, stuffed with cheese and baby spinach with rosemary and hints of orange; Vegetarian/Vegan entrees like Lady Pea Stew and Dirty Rice; collard greens and savory vegetables; candied green beans and roasted potatoes, Tweaked Mom’s Peach Cobbler with Whippin’ Cream, and refreshing Black Sweet Tea. Limited seating, $15/person.
Chef Venus will prepare American Southeast dishes with Southeast Asian taste and South African spices. Venus's eclectic dishes derive from her father's native Congo, her Aunt’s native Philippines and her mother’s unique cooking style from southern roots.
